MyFarmer World

How it works

Sensors, a logger, the cloud and your phone

There are four parts to MyFarmer World. Once it is set up, it runs in the background and only asks for your attention when something needs it.

  1. Step 1

    Sensors

Temperature probes, level sensors, flow meters, soil probes and weather stations measure what is happening.

  2. Step 2

    Data logger

An on-farm logger collects readings from your sensors and sends them on at regular intervals.

  3. Step 3

    MyFarmer World cloud

Readings are stored securely, checked against your alert rules, and kept as history.

  4. Step 4

    Your app

See live readings and history on iOS, Android or the web, and get alerts by SMS, email or push.

Watching for you

Every reading is checked as it arrives. For milk vats, MyFarmer World works out milking zones, detects pickups and washdowns, and checks the milk is cooling within the time you need, so a compliance problem is flagged while there is still time to act.

Alerts your way

Choose who on your team hears about what, and whether by SMS, email or push notification. Alerts cover things like milk not cooling in time, levels too high or low, pumps stopping and sensors that have gone quiet.

History when you need it

Readings are kept, so you can look back at a vat's cooling curve, a tank's level over the week or soil moisture across the season.

Common questions

What hardware do I need?

Sensors for the things you want to monitor (for example vat temperature probes or a tank level sensor) and an on-farm data logger to collect and send the readings. We will talk you through what suits your setup. [Supported hardware list TBC]

How do readings get off the farm?

The data logger sends readings to the MyFarmer World cloud at regular intervals over its network connection. [Connectivity options, e.g. cellular coverage requirements, TBC]

What happens if a sensor stops reporting?

MyFarmer World notices when no data has arrived from a sensor or logger for a while, and alerts you so a fault or power cut doesn’t go unnoticed.

Who can see my farm data?

You and the people you give access to. Third-party partners can only see your data if you have given permission, and only for the time and sensors agreed.

Who installs it?

[Installation process and installer network TBC]
